new breed of budget colour lasers - cheap to run ink-wise?
I've always looked at budget deskject printers with disdain. They seem peanuts to initially buy that saving is usually displaced in the 1st year of ownership alone with the cost of replacing ink cartridges.
Wondering through PC World I notice colour lasers have come down dramatically in price below £500
I was wondering if anyone had any experience of using one and how much its costing in terms of cost and frequency of replacement ink cartridges?

Colour lasers are cheap, because the money is made on the colour toner cartridges. On some as much as £250 per cartridge. They do last a while mind but when there are 4 to replace it gets expensive. Black is only £60 and is used in the ads to get the sale.
Meanwhile a 24ppm colour epson inkjet which can run for 10 years with no errors (have still go them working in office) for under £200 and cartridges (copies) for under £3 you can't go wrong. If you need thousands of colour copies, you would be better with a copier/printer solution.
