Bravo, I was just trying to follow your advice opening ports and being a novice at this, can only get this far
Having installed WinMx it says that I need to map an incoming TCP port 6699. Any ideas where I go from here?

I would try setting web as the first option. PC server will be your pc's ip address/name what ever is listed there. Internal and external port no set to 6699 and leave protocol on tcp and then add as new server. If you have a seperate software firewall you will need to make a rule on that accordingly.
Let me know how you get on and hope that works for you.

You could goto www.portforward.com and see if your router is listed. They give you step by step instructions to open ports on your router.
