Mate of mine is being subject to a libel on a wide circulation, the originator having a hotmail address. Is there any way of finding out the real identity of the perpetrator........seeing as dodgy surfers often use hotmail addresses, I guess there may not???

You can report it to Hotmail (here: http://www.hotmail.msn.com/cgi-bin/d...=EN&country=UK).

If it is really harassment, you can get the Police involved. Burr would probably be a better person to answer that.

I know how to get into the account and look at their mail and tell you their password.

I said I know, but am not offering as this would be illegal.

You wouldn't beleive how easy it is.

Thanks Steve. "Libel" is a carefully-chosen word, as opposed to "harrassment", and it may very well be (indeed, probably is) offshore in origin. Hence the need to identify the individual, rather than hack their inbox in some sort of lightning-strike

Any advances on this, anyone?
