500GB Lacie firewire drive on XP
Previous to installing this drive (xp) my PC booted pronto (AMD 3200 / 1Gig RAM etc) - now it takes two or three minutes. If I disconnect the drive it boots quick as ever. Is this to be expected due to XP's sh1te handling of medium sized drives ??
More worriesome is that I turned of indexing on this drive (which has about 20GB of data on it) -now it seems to be doing something (read/write) but causing 100% cpu utilisation for hours (got bored and powered off the drive)
any ideas? - Lacie support sucks like a Latvian ***** in a decompression chamber that has suffered a catastrophic failure
