Unhappy virus prob, help pls

can anyone help me as i'm getting loads of problems, here they are:

- When i try to update CWShredder it doesn't respond and i get a message i have cws.smartsearch.2 on my system that is trying to close cwshredder etc.

- can't update my spybot or avg and can't get onto loads of anti virus sites.

- browser seems slow

- my default homepage has changed to: http://red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cust...//my.yahoo.com.

i've tryed to find info on this smartsearch.2 but all the links i've found to programs to get rid of it i can't access, this is driving me mad.

Has anyone got any ideas.

Thanks - Matt

Well firstly I don't think i'll click on that link.

Dunno what you can do but, yet again, why don't you try the Opera browser, faster and far more secure than IE which is crap.

Just had a read about it here http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/c...ml#smartsearch

I can email you hijackthis if you want, that should get rid of it.
