Default Remote Access for PC based CCTV

I'm in the process of setting up a PC based CCTV Sysyem at work, the idea is that it acts as a web server/Webcam so you can access the pictures remotely from any PC. The instructions say that you just enter the machines IP address into the address bar in Internet Explorer and log in. The problem is that when I try and do this, I get the Home gateway login Box come up , I enter my username and password but it will not accept it. I know the name and password is correct so am guessing this could be something to do with the firewall being enabled or maybe something else.

The system is running on XP and is connected to the internet via a broadband connection which is working fine but unfortunately I know virtually nothing about networking and accessing other machines remotely, Any ideas.
