There's a jumper on the motherboard where you choose the front side bus freq.

My CPU is an Athlon XP+ 2000 , shall i set it to 100mhz or 133mhz???

133MHz. It's intended to run at 1666MHz (133MHz bus, 12.5x multiplier).

i just tried it and windows take AGES to boot, so i just reset it.

Do i need to format the bleedin thing?

I changed the setting on the BIOS too, the pc is working perfectly until Win XP start to load

What does the BIOS report? i.e. when you restart/boot the first screen the BIOS displays should be information about the system. It will display the BIOS version, date, amount of RAM installed and also info on the processor. It might report the model number (2000+) or the chip speed ~1670MHz. What does yours say?

usually there's a software controlled jumper i.e let the bios control fsb or manual, think i've explained that badly but i know what i mean

If you're able to get into Windows, you could also try a software diagnostic. Try WCPUID - which will interrogate the motherboard and report the bus speed, multiplier, cache size/speed, chip speed/name etc.

turned off the pc, changed the jumper, switched it on and the pc is working fine
