Windows XP and 2000 Shared Folders

Is there a way to turn them off? You get one Shared folder for every user account on the machine. When you have users that hot desk so can log into different workstations it gets messy. Is it easy to turn this off out of AD (Active Directory or policies)?
I tried this already but it did not work
