Exterbal VGA socket - Dell Inspiron 8500
#1
I'm a little confused - I know WinXP offers multiple monitor support, but I assume this means the PC must be equipped with say 2 graphics cards for 2 monitors.
What I have is a Dell Laptop, Inspiron 8500 with a GeForce Mobile 4600 graphics chipset.
It outputs to the laptops screen by default but also has an external VGA socket like all laptops do.
I can't seem to get a display on the external VGA - is this a function of the BIOS, the WinXP display control panel, or the NVidia display control panel ?
I always thought laptops auto-detected if anything was plugged into the external VGA and just used that, but its not the case with this.
Any help would be appreciated.
