Got a new PC........Help Needed!!!!!

As above, got a new PC but need to transfer all the music files i have off the old one. whats the best way to do it???
will i have to copy them all (about 230) onto cd's and then back off the cd onto the new machine????
please dont say i have to do that

Some Options I can think of. Maybe there are more...
1. If your new PC has a built in network interface then buy a cross over cable and network it to your old pc. If your old PC has no network card you will need to buy one. Total cost about 15 quid. Warranty remains intact on new PC
2. If your new PC does not have a network card open up both PCs (bye bye warranty) and install your old hard drive in your new PC in addition to the one that's already there. Copy the files over. Easy! and no cost
3. Bribe a child or friend to do the CD copying method.

If you don't already have network cards in both of them (circa £10 to £15 each + a CAT5 cross over cable), you could try a USB File Transfer Cable.

unfortunately i havn't got eleventy million disks shame on me!!!!!

As MJ said, the simplest (and cheapest) is just to burn them to CD and copy them that way. It wil lalso give you a back up copy just incase something happens

i did it the cd way in the end, was really simple ( considering in no computer buff )
just got to load them onto the new machine and i'm away
