if its the messenger pop-ups that you want to stop.
Go to Start, then Run and type in services.msc Click Ok
Scroll to Messenger, select it, right click it and choose Properties.
Under startup choose "Disabled", then choose Stop.
When stopped, click Ok.

Scroll to Messenger, select it, right click it and choose Properties.

When stopped, click Ok.

I have the google pop up killer installed but I still get Kazaa popping up etc.

KaZaa is spyware, it will launch pop-ups of its own accord. You agreed to this when you read through that long EULA at installation
Seriously, get rid of Kazaa and switch to another P2P client (eg. KaZaa Lite)
Any PC users want to recommend their fav P2P clients?
