Question

Just bought myself a DVD writer. I am using DVD Express for the burning software. When I make a backup of a DVD, I am able to watch it on the DVD rom on the PC, but am unable to view on a normal home DVD player. I have 2 home DVD players. bothe are multiregion, but when I try to view I get a message saying "Load disc" on one of them, and "Unrecognised format" on the other player. I have tried DVD+R and DVD RW, with the same results.

Can anyone shed some light on this situation for me.

Try using DVD-R discs, some home DVD players have problems with the +R discs

Also might want to try a few other burning apps. I tried one using Nero 6 (can't remember the exact version) any my player would not recognise it 9/10 tries. I'm using Nero 5 (something) at the mo and it's worked everytime. RecordNowMax is also supposed to be reliable..

This was with DVD-RW and DVD-R.

Use dvd shrink (free download) to rip the disc,
and then use nero 6 the burn onto the blank disc.i hav never had a problem using this combo.
the dvd+r discs i use work im both my dvd players and all my mates
