Im looking at getting a new web cam, as my old one locks ny pc up and is a bit naff really.

What do i need to look for in a web cam, is it the FPS that makes the cam run smoother?
Cos with the old cam, even on Bband, it seemed real jerky, how do i make it real smooth,

many thanks

Tony

The FPS certainly determines how smooth the picture will be. (my pathetic cam struggles at about 7fps. PAL TV and video runs at 25fps and NTSC at 30fps so yes it's a major factor. Also depends on the internet connection you have. If one of you is on 56K dial up then this will slow you down no end. So make sure you're both on a fast connection. Yahoo messenger is a fine tool for cam chatting and has a super mode which keeps things speedy over a broadband connection.
