BTOpenworld Broadband and Consoles
#1
I currently have BT Openworld (with an Intel ADSL Modem) at home, plus a PS2 (and hopefully an xbox soon). Do I need to buy the £75 router BT offer to be able to get online with the PS2 or XBOX, or is it possible to connect the PS2 and/or XBOX to the net via my laptop/modem without another bit of kit (and more outlay)? Any help much appreciated! I can run to £120 for an XBox plus PGR2, but £195 once I've bought a router too is a bit rich for me at the mo!

You will need either a router or an ethernet modem. (BT supply USB modems)
If you go down the ethernet modem route you will then need a mini hub should you wish to he connected to the internet with say, your PC and your PS2 at the same time so it may be worth plumping for a router!!
You don't have to stick with the stuff BT sell you.Have a look at something like http://www.broadbandbuyer.co.uk for routers etc. (One with a four port switch in is ideal)
Good luck
Nick
P.S: Buy the Xbox cos PGR2 is brilliant. (I got my xbox for xmas but haven't even connected it to LIVE as yet.I hear it gets better when playing on LIVE)
