infuriating bluetooth dongle problem!

I have a USB Bluetooth dongle that I bought from Ebay. It worked fine with my old 7650. But now I have a Nokia 6600 I cant seem to communicate properly with my phone.
I have a bit of software called XTND Connection Manager or something like that and it detects my mobile and I can use it to send files from my pc. But when I right click on the 2 grey triangles icon in my taskbar to select the port and connect.....I find that none of the available ports will work. It used to work on port 3 but not now.
Can anyone tell me why this might be happening? I have even used one of the bits of software to "trust" my new mobile and it has accepted that.
Pls advise if you can....
