I have applied for ADSL on a newly installed business line. Dear BT have rejected the application saying that ADSL is already provided on the line.

Is there any way I can discover who this phantom supplier is?

TIA

Hello

Try again with an ISP like Zen. Place a "manual" order and they might be able to help.

Steve.

goto www.bt.com/broadband

band your telephone number in the checker box on the bottom right hand corner.

when the little window pops up telling you the result, right click it and select view source

look for the word: BT_ADSL_CODE

this is followed by four letters.

1st letter - whether you can get 1or2mb service (g,a,r (green red amber)
2nd letter - 512 service
3rd letter - exchange status - A - ADSL enabled exchange
4th letter - z = standard line, A = ADSL enabled line

the R stands for:

R » An order for ADSL has been registered with BT Wholesale, by
an ISP, for the specified line.

Thanks jjones, I checked with BT again and the only order registered is the one I placed through my ISP, so not quite sure what's going on.
