Have an old HP Deskjet 600 that has just died. Dont really print out that much so dont want to spend too much.

No idea what makes/models are good these days. I assume Epson/Canon and HP are still good?

Want something that does good quality black but can do colour if needed.

How much would I need to spend to be able to print out decent copies of our digital pics? And do such printers eat ink cartridges and take expensive paper?

Thanks,
Simon.

A few weeks ago I got the Epson Stylus CX3200 Printer/Copier/Scanner from PC World for £99.99 and am very pleased with it.

Cool... the one thing I found with epsons I have had in the past is that they take forever to warm up. Have they fixed that on the newer models?

I recently bought a xerox docuprint... sadly they no longer make printers for the home market which is a shame because it's as tough as old boots

BB - Well it hasnt been used for ages and is about 8 years old. I only have a black ink cartridge that I got off Ebay a few months back (cheapo not HP) that worked fine. Doesnt want to do anything now.

Are they HP cartridges you have?

Simon.
