I am looking for a piece of software to record internet radio. I want to be able to schedule recordings on different internet radio stations whilst at work etc. Bit like a TiVo for Internet Radio.

Ideally freeware, but would pay for it. Can't find any, anyone use one?

Ta,

Alex

I don't use it but I think you are looking for "total recorder" or maybe "stream box"

Hmm, there are a number of bits of software that record the audio stream on your PC, but you need to have set up the radio in advance. I want something that will allow me to specify the channel to record, i.e. will interface into WinAmp, Real or Windows Media Player.

Am thinking I might have to write it!

Total Recorder Professional Edition should do it.

A mini-browser incorporated into the scheduler, that removes the requirement to leave your usual browser active and on the site that you wish to record. Use of the mini-browser allows users to browse and pre-select links they would like to record. At the scheduled time, Total Recorder Professional will activate the link and record the requested broadcast.

From what I can see that will cope with URLs for streamed mp3 format stations, but doesn't appear to cope with activating Real or WMA programs for those formats. Will download the 3 minute record trial version and have a play, but it's looking like a coding exercise for me!

You want to get a hold of RipCast.

Its fantastic and will even split the tracks into individual songs for you.

That looks cool, though again looks like it only deals with streamed MP3 stations, so recording BBC stations off real, or others off WMA, for example, may not work? Will download it and try...
