Just wanted to find any recommendations for a minidv to avi to mpeg2. Using a modified template instead of the wizard to create .mpg files and then use tmpgenc dvd author for creation.
Just want to make sure I get the best quality on the final dvd so I can wipe the tapes. I would keep the original avi files but they are a little large
dj, been to most of them sites thanks... just looking for any personal recommendations.
PS using sony image mixer to pull via firewire and save as avi before using tmpgenc plus to make into mpeg 2 files.
Dave.

Yep ... see the above links especially the middle one for more info.
What are people using for capturing minidv firewire avi's ? and is there any difference in the software on this side as the avi's are uncompressed
Dave.
