Im sure there is a dead simple answer to this one but when i try and delete a message in microsoft outlook from my imap inbox it simply puts a strike/line through the message and doesnt delete it anywhere, can anyone suggest an answer?

In IMAP mode you are connecting to folders on the server and not downloading messages into an outlook folder like you would with POP. I suspect that the server has a purge schedule which will remove the message at some stage, the strike thru showing that its been marked for deletion.
