been sent a file with extension .sav but cant view it-what program will open it-i use windows xp-any help please

That file extension is a bit to general to know what it's from, sounds like from a game save or something???

Do you know what it relates to? You could try opening it with notepad, although it's likely to be gobble de gook the first line or 2 may give you an indication as to what it came from.

NB. You could always ask the person that sent it to you, what it's from

A picture's not likely to have the extension .sav, and 1kb sounds too small to be an image unless it's an icon or something.
