I am relatively new to xbox tampering. I bought a chipped v1.0 with executor v1, a few years ago, already pre-installed with some apps. I recently upgraded all the apps using slayers 2.5 whcich worked well. i then foolishly decided (as it seemed so simple - LMAO) to rebuild my drive using slayers standard drive rebuild + Evox + all apps.
Now it will only boot to the standard xbox dash.
I am pc literate, so understand the principles, but am still having trouble.

I now have connection to my xbox via flashfxp, when the slayers disc is in.

I have checked my .ini file and that appears ok.

but no default.xbe??? should there be one?

[EDITED] OK I have now read my 1.x is unflashable, so hopefully, I have not knackered that (below).
"And , I suppose I should be honest I believe I may have tried to update the bios as a last attempt to fix, but I am sure, it said Done, followed by an error saying the bios area wasnt writeable, and the sysytem did not treset afterwards as expected, so I believe the flash may have been unsuccessful anyway."
Surely this means is just a matter of getting my config correct???


I have tried to search for my particular issues, and read up as much as I can before posting as I understand what it's like when peeps keeping asking the same questions.
I have tried to give as much info as I can. If anyone can shed some light I would be very grateful. Please ask if there's anything else you need to know.

you say you can ftp box, if so rename the msdashboard to something else (don't delete it though abd name the evox dash to msdashboard.

you mean to xboxdash.xbe <<thats the auto boot dash filename, so which ever dash you name to this will start when you turn on the xbox

 

the one you want to rename is xboxdash.xbe then rename the evoxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe

Thin I got that.
I have renamed xboxdash.xbe to msxboxdash.xbe and then renamed evoxdash.xbe to xboxdash.xbe.

And change xboxdash.xbe to msxboxdash.xbe in the evox .INI file.

And its worked treat, I have the full sweet and all my temperatures for cpu hd etc.

i might add a spoiler, some neons underneath, maybe get some gold buttons and a perspex window on the top

 

Do the LEDS on teh chip and the LED on teh front of my box count as Neons?

One thang, have you fitted a new HDD for this then or is this stuff done on a standard drive?

I've got an xecutor chip on mine, I would like to be able to make iso images of my orignal games (19 month old boy likes to bruum the disc's around on the floor )
Is this how it's done then?

For original game purposes it goes like this

1.Install game onto xbox hard drive(phhloader or ddv2xbox)
2.Ftp the game folder from xbox to pc
3.Run folder through an iso image creator (xiso)
4.Write to disk
5.Smile safe in the knowledge that should disk get buggered up, you have a back up

 

or if u have a dvd burner, link xbox and pc via ethernet cable (crossover) start up xbclone on pc put disc in xbox and press go. tadaa xiso now on ya pc hdd ready for burning or puttin on yaxbox hdd via ftp

if you want it n cant find it email me. wont reply tonight as im off out on't **** but im in all tommorrow (hangover pending) ive not had any kind of problem with it, has backed up every game ive done so far. you have the option to keep the extracted files aswell as the xiso so you dont have to bother extracting them if you want to cut files out to fit on media. fit a couple onto cd-r's this way

Mega, Now I have successfully formatted my original drive and rebuilt with all apps and evox I will get a big drive this Sunday, maybe a 120 gig that peaks at 1.3 bar ...doh.

Then you just pop the games in and copy to xbox, and play em from there.

I put a new 120GB Turbo in my Xbox yesterday and tried to use a new dump valve, model EvoX 3921 Couldn't get the ftp to work with this version so reverted back to EvoX 2594 which allowed me to restore the C & E drives and get the Xbox working again.

Is this ftp issue a known issue with 3921, what versions of Evox are peeps using/recommend around here?

EvolutionX Build 3935 is the latest one. Never had any probs with 3921 but there were some FTP bugs corrected in this new release

 

Thought I was getting a head of steam up on this modding lark, but I've not heard of most of those

I knew about xbox scene but find it an infuriating place, all those loverly programs, and generally no links to download them

Still, found EvoX 3935 now, off to try it

 

I must get around to updating my evoX to 3955 and the Bios to 3979!

 

ftp works again, got bits of mame running as well, forgot how good Galaga was, I've got a sore thumb now

 

1941 is my fav and sensi soccer on uaex

Have a few of those apps on mine now thanks to slayers evox 2.5, would have never even started without that.

They really are excellent little bits of kit, I've just installed the mame emulator with 2105 roms, and the mega drive emulator with 800 games, so I was up till 3 this morning playing sonic the hedgehog, and R-Type, shouting at me mates I remember this level.
Jeez i need to get out more.
