how can u change ur IP addy

if say i was on a chat server and ther was a chat room that had banned me on that server they do it by blocking my IP addy-i have a static IP by my server so how can i change it at will or hide it somehow so when i use MIRC they in this room wont know my IP addy so i can access this room again-any idea's please

turn off your modem
at the command prompt:
iprelease (or releaseip) <-- can't remember which
leave the modem off for about 30mins
sign back online again
That should be it m8
Type ipconfig before and after to check it's changed

If you have a static IP address then all you can do is appolgise to the webmaster of the chat site.
If the IP address was issued by DHCP then you might have been able to follow SDB's instructions, but you can't.

Oh and by the way the instructions of releasing and renewing IP address is as follows:
98 - iconfig/release_all
- ipconfig/renew_all
2000 and XP - ipconfig/release
- ipconfig/renew
