I've bought this DVD+r writer, only to find that afer 4 changes of region, it locks into the last recording setting.(In drive properties)

Not even a re-install of Windows will over-write this

What a piece of sh1te!!!!

Anybody know of a firmware update that will override this (or put it into region-free mode)?

Otherwise, it's going in the bin, and i'll have to buy another one!!!

Pleae help!!!

Dan

Bummer

You could try this

It is software that runs in the background and lets you play any region DVD on any dvd player. You can try it free for 30days so you can see if it helps.

I'm not totally sure on the firmware issue with the drive, I read with mine that once you'd hit the limit then that woz it, that's wot the manafacturers claim anyways

I'd try typing the "model number of the drive" and "region" into a search engine and see what it kicks up

Thought I'd add that there is a hack to make it region-free, but I can't find it.

Can anybody help?

Cheers,

Dan
