Bose 321 Home Theatre - any good?

Looks like I'll be getting my 2001 tax refund before Christmas so can finally get the planned home theatre system. Wife is very keen on the Bose kit as it promises a quality, compact package with minimal geeky wiring on display, through a 2 speakers + sub set up.
From my perspective the 3-2-1 both looks and sounds good (at least in the shop it did). A bit disappointed that the relatively-low USD price is not reflected in Europe. US price = say EUR 850 with taxes Vs typically EUR 1600 on this side of the pond. This differential hasn't changed in over 6 months that I have been price-watching, despite a much weaker dollar, so I don't expect it to get better at all.
Does anyone have any actual experience with this piece of kit and is it any good?
