I know this can be a touchy subject because it is generally asked for illegal purposes but does anyone know of a way to LEGALLY remove copyright protection from WMA files. I have searched M$ and googled for it but no luck which makes me think this is a pointless question.

The reason I ask is that I have WMA protection on my CD collection on my PC but today I installed a Panasonic MP3/WMA player in the car and WMA will not play because of the copyright protection. I really dont want to spend weeks re-ripping over 200 CD's worth of music.

Thumbs up

I'm not too convinced that you can remove the protection, but if you convert it to an MP3 then it'll get lost

Try DBPowerAmp to convert these, from here

thanks zhastaph but I kinda guessed that one. I was hoping to keep the wma as it gives better quality for smaller file size, but I have the feeling I am going to have to go down this path...
