Hi All,
Looks like we will be able to have broadband (at last) in February.
However, I've questions about wiring.
We currently have the phone line coming in to the living room downstairs and all extensions run from this (3 in total).
When broadband is put in, I understand you plug something into the master socket and then use micro filters on the extensions if you need to use voice. I'm assuming all extension wiring can be used. However, the router for the internet side, does that have to be at the master socket as well, or can that go on one of the extensions ?
Cheers

Each phone needs to be on a filtered outlet. Either install the microfilter at the Master and run a seperate unfiltered extension for the ADSL modem or install microfilters at each phone.
The modem does not need a microfilter, you can plug it straight into an unfiltered socket, or the unfiltered side of a microfilter.
That's a lot of filtering to take in, but it's dead easy really
Have a look at ADSL Guide for everything you ever wanted to know.

Can highly recommend paying more for the ADSLNation XF-1e micro filter Ian. CLI on my phone dropped out with the Excelus MF but has been rock solid wit the XF-1e. Comparision of the filters.

Nice one. Thanks everyone.
Chris, cheers for that. I'll look into them as I also had nightmares with CLI/Call drop on ISDN as well.
Cheers
