Which is best Playstation 2 or X Box???
My missus said she will get me one for xmas, but which one??. All the reviews i have read say X box is better. I have an old Playstation 1 which i've not used for a few years now.

What benefits do you get chipping your box???
I know that if you chipped your old playstation 1's you could play copied games.

*play backed up games
*install several funky bits of software
*run emulators (snes, mega drive, mame, neo geo, cps2 etc)
*install a bigger hard drive
*install linux
*play divx movies straight from cd or from hdd or streamed from ya pc
*plus lots more.

no u cant get a ps2 emulator. probably never will. u can get a ps1 emulator but u have to rip the cd's to the hdd via a pc as the xbox drive wont read the ps1 cd's and the emulation isnt very good for it.

PS2 is starting to suffer from textures that aren't very detailed compared to XBox and GC. Compare the consoles side by side and see for yourself.
It is the only one with the EyeToy at the moment, though.
