Anyone know how to get rid of a repetitive read receipt for the same email that was originally read 6 months ago but everyday it still sends out a read receipt for that one email?
Oh and it needs to be a fix other than deleting/moving the particular email.
Thanks in advance for any help

Its for one of my users mate. I am sure I have fixed this before for someone with a command line switch but having looked at the list for outlook 2000 none of the switches would clean out read receipts.
I have no idea how many recipients he sent it to. I can find out though if its an important factor?

I thought the read reciept request went with the message, When outlook (or whicheve mail reader) at the reciepent end sees the header it goes I should send acknowledgement back. So I assume that the only way to stop the reciepts would be to get the recipents to delete the mails. You can set Outlook to not requested the reciept but that would only occur for mails sent after that time.
Make sense ?
Dave.

It does mate but unfortunately I cant use that option. I have to find a fix that doesn't involve moving to a pst or deleting the email. Its the client thats not registered the opening of the email and this is what I need to fix.
I might suggest to the user that he forwards me the email. We then sdelete it from his system and then I send it back to him and see what happens. Worth a try I suppose.
