Yes I have the Google toolbar, is that why I am getting the spam?

Sorry, just realised what you meant and have enabled the ad blocker on there. Thanks.

These spamming B******* keep doing the above to me! If I use NAV ad block it stops reply to topic and the page number appearing on Scoobynet, and I can't drag this window to the ad blocking trashcan either.

Help!

I've switched security to high. Have W2K SP3, SP4 interfered with my printer driver and was unrecoverable so I had to reinstall windows Therefore I am a little dubious about further Microsoft updates.

Running NAV with the latest updates, ad block off as above though.

No it actually stops most popups very effectively. There should be a tab on the google toolbar showing how many it has blocked. If it is not there then enable it in options.

What version of Windows are you running John?

If it is NT4, 2K or XP then you can stop those popup's by disabling the 'Messenger Service'

Miles you are a star, I have been getting those same pain in the **** messenger pop ups for about a year now.
I tried ad-aware6 and spybot thinking that would do the job, then half an hour after running them up popped the spam again aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh.
I used the step by step guide on the link you posted, and fingers crossed, not had any more since.

Cheers dude

It's nothing to do with google, or IE (for a change)

Go into Control Panel/Services then disable Messenger service. No detrimental effects, and it'll work
