benchmark your machine with something like futuremark., sisoft sandra or prime 95, if your comp finishes running it with out any probs then you have successfully overlcocked your cpu. getting your comp to boot at a high speed is one thing but getting it to run stable is another. the xp2500 are good overclockers and usually hit 2.2ghz / 2.3ghz with out too much problem.

I just installed an athlon xp2500+ as an upgrade from a 1900+
I set the speed to 166mhz and the bios recognised it as a 2500+ just fine.
I have now set the speed to 200mhz and it's coming up as a 3200+ in BIOS and machine is faster, and rock solid stability wise..
Does this sound right..
Chip is running at 41degrees c, Mobo at 22degrees C
