Hi,

Right I'm just about to go and by a firewire cable so I can connect my Camcorder to my PC. Thing is once it is connected how do I capture the footage? Do i need some software to do this. Can anyone recommend anything? No software was provided with the camcorder.

if you are running me or xp moviemaker that comes with the os is ok but basic. otherwise you'll need to spend some money and buy something like ulead videostudio.

adobe premier is good, but resource hungry, oh and harddrive hungry, oh and memory hungry, infact its positively ravenous!!!

good results though, you will have to experiment hard and long, and prepare for long old rendering times, if you edit the footage and add sound etc!!!
