Every now & again I get a'McAfee port scan attack' message come up, even on Scoobynet. Guess I'm glad it picks it up, but what is it & who does it, for what reason (just had one, & thought I'd try and get an explanation of what is going on!)

it ain't a port scan, it's a common failure of firewalls... Any site that uses lots of small images will open a few high order ports and whack images down. I think what happens is that the images can cache before the session is established (or something like that... google if you really want to know) and hence your firewall thinks that something is up.
