Are there different types of ram, as I want to increase my present 256 up to 512 ??? and what costs am I looking at, also is it just plug in and turn on....from a computer illiterate. Oh and the best place to buy from.

Lots of different types I am afraid, whichever one you need the likely cost will be about £30 for an additional 256MB. and you will notice a big difference.

Mog,

Go to http://www.crucial.com/uk/index.asp and use their wizard to find your PC.

Memory is the cheapest upgrade you can do so I'd advise getting as much as your PC can handle...
