Try it on a test server,

considering putting new machines on 9.

Does it have any issues with Compaq Proliant DL380 r1 and r2's ? As we had great fun when we upgraded to 8.6 3878 and it blue screened them on reboot!
If the answer is no, then yes I would like the 60day free demo tro try it

You can download the latest version, and install it as a demo
Version 9 was patched (well the whole build replaced due to being lots of issues with the first build of 9) it is now quite stable and works pretty well
Got some nice new features with scheduling, and you can change what gets backed up first too
Havent come across a single problem with it anywhere on the sites where I am working, but then there has been very little issues with ver 8.6 either

Has the new build of v9 fixed problems backing up to NAS devices?
Personally, unless you have a major reason for change (is there a new, must have feature in v9?), I'd keep with 8.x. Then spend the money you haven't spent on v9 on booze for the office Christmas party

I've just taken delivery on some new Dell servers and a Dell PowerVault with dual SDLT80 drives. Should have things setup by next week, so happy to report any probs with v9 that I come across.
