Wireless Broadband
#1
Anyone know anything about this at all?
I live 4 miles outside Bath and might as well live in the middle of the Gobi desert as far as BT are concerned. They're not going to upgrade our exchange so I won't be able to get hardwired broadband. Another company has been flyer-ing us advertising wireless broadband. Company is F1 Broadband.
Does anyone have any experience of wireless broadband? Any good? How secure is it? Is it reliable? Is it vastly expensive? etc etc
I suspect this may be the only way I'll ever be able to get decent internet access speeds......god I hate BT.

See http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=261439 for a similar situation.
...and also try your post code at http://www.libertybroadband.co.uk/wireless/ - but note that Liberty became First Net became GX Networks (with a Tele2 thrown in there).

We got Satellite broadband at work as we can not get wired broadband for about 2 years!
It works fine but is a bit slower than normal broadband, you have to remember that data is going to and from a satellite. I notice the difference from using my broadband at home to that at the office and we “think” that when we get bad weather it is slightly affected too.
Down load speeds are fine it’s just a bit more noticeable when browsing the internet.
