Puff you can use the windoze update catalog(ue).
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/en/default.asp
You will need to know what update you're looking for though. You can do a search by date.
I dont think you get this option by default, IIRC you need to personalise the update page.
You then get the choice to tick a box to show the catalogue:
Says 'Display the link to the Windows Update Catalog under See Also
The Windows Update Catalog provides a searchable collection of updates that can be installed on Windows-based computers across your home or corporate network. This is recommended for advanced users only.'

Thanks m8
That seems to do the job
But whilst d/loading some updates, desperately needed to go to the loo as my tummy was making horible noises and I felt a pressure building up, so off I went. Whilst in the loo, I picked up Oct 2003 PC Pro, a few copies of which are always kept there, and chanced upon the Real World Computing Section. Guess what the column was about? Yes UPDATES!!
So I am at present using my ickle 64K connection to download MS SUS SP1 (Software Update Services Server 1.0 with Service Pack 1) all 32.2 MBs of it (1 hr 13 to go ). Then, together with the Client deployed on the desktops, I should be able to automate the whole process using AD.
I think this one will take a bit of learning and mucking about but it'll be worth it in the end
Thanks m8

Looks like the SUS only works with XP and 2K, 2K3 machines though, might be wrong. All my clients are 98 SE

MS Security Baseline Analyzer is a good tool too.You can either check a single machine or multiple machines for vulnerabilities!!
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=320454
It can also be integrated to work with SUS
Cheers
