08/10/2003 - Okay, so I decide on some Netgear wireless kit and ebuyer are doing the best deal on it. So I order from ebuyers website . . . 1 x Netgear DG824M + ME101 Bundle. Paid for priority delivery because I wanted it the next day.

10/10/2003 - Okay so its a day late, but a parcel arrives. Excellent, I think, after my previous experiences with ebuyer they have finally got it right. Hang on, this package is a bit on the small side . . . Open it up and its just a wireless bridge and no router Great

I send them an enote to ask whats going on and also give them a ring.

13/10/2003 - Message from ebuyer - Dear Sir / Madam,

With reference to the above item(s) you reported missing.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention.

We are currently investigating this matter and will contact you once our enquiries are complete.
here we go.

14/10/2003 - Message from ebuyer - Dear Sir

We have completed our checks and apologise for the mistake made.

We are now shipping you the missing item and it should be with you Tomorrow.

Yet again please accept our sincerest apologies for any annoyance and inconvenience caused by this issue

Regards
ebuyer Support

Cool. At least I'm due to get my router, praise the ******* lord

15/10/2003 - The day of reckoning arrives . . . as does a parcel . . . but hang on . . . its a bit small . . .

Another ******* wireless bridge Great, now I have two bridges and no router !!

What a total and utter shambles this lot are

So I speak to them today, in a nice polite tone (yeah, right) and they are going to deliver my router tomorrow (16/10/2003) and collect one of the bridges . . . not holding my breath.

Taking bets on another wireless bridge arriving tomorrow

[rant mode deactivated]

By the way, this is not the first time they have messed up my orders. I have used them 3 times in the past and had the same experiences. Thought I'd give them one more try

Thanks for reading This is all purely my opinion of course

If I get another wireless bridge tomorrow then I'm going to send it back to them with an extra 'fragrant & moist' gift in the box, courtesy of my bowels

Wish I'd stuck with good old Komplett, never let me down. Very true, that cheapest is not always best. Lesson learnt Mmmmust resist cheapness . . . .

Ah, ebuyer what a wonderful company. NOT.

I had the same problem with a Pioneer dvd writer. Eventually got it a month later ( only after I called them ).

Odd.
I ordered the same item as you on a Friday at 3pm and asked for next day delivery.
It arrived on the Saturday morning at 8am.

I was pleased with thier service.

It took them 4 attempts to send me the correct motherboard - Epox 8K3A+.

1st time it was a Gigabyte P4 board
2nd time it was a Epox 8K3A
3rd time it was another Epox 8K3A
4th time they finally send me the correct one

They did pay all the costs, but whoever picks the items off the shelf needs shot.

Agree, the fault seems to be with the item pickers in the warehouse. They really should specify that employees should posses basic reading skills.

Bal - Looks like you got lucky mate I bet they don't have any in stock now, they only had a few left at the time I ordered.

Had a similar problem recently. Ordered bits to build pc and Gfx card failed to show. Sent them an enote and got the reply they were investigating, then one saying as part of their enquiries they would be involving the police. lol anyway had to get this pc out the door so order a new gfx card from them plus the extra p+p, soon as I had done that they agreed it hadn't been sent and refunded the original. Cost me an extra £3 in p+p.

Unfortuantely they have an excellent web site, much better than any competetitor, so its difficult not to use them.

Have to say - never had any other problems with the 20 or so order previously placed.

I used them twice. The first went fine.

The second was for memory, which was faulty. It took them 4 weeks to replace it.

Never again.

They're cheap, which is good to use as a comparison with companies that price match. ;-)

Well, I have placed a good 30 to 40 orders with ebuyer and have been lucky, they cocked up once when I ordered an athlon 1100 for £17 and got sent a XP1800 thorobred. Suffice to say I merely re-orded another 1100 and kept the 1800

Also had the amazing luck of stumbling across a pricing cockup in the memory section. I ordered the last 2 Corsair 1GB DDR500 TwinX packs, which were close to £700 for the 2 everywhere else, for £288 all in for the 2! . Loved that, but have no idea of exactly what to do with the 2 Gb of ram that I run now

I have hoever seen these problems mentioned by others with quite a few ppl that I know, so I guess I have been lucky, They really need to train their chimps properly .

Cheers,

Nick

Thumbs down

Bought a new case from them last week.

Give them their due, it arrived (with a new mp3 plateer for the missus), when they said it would.

So i build the new PC in said case, go for the virgin aboot and NO FCUKIN POWER
The case was gubbed, i've sent them several eNotes to no avail, looks like talking to a monkey on the phone's gonna be the only was to resolve this.

Only reason i used them is 'cause i was getting free P&P due to a pricing error they wouldn't honour last month....250gb HDD for £55
