Help - I am going to throw my laptop through the office window - Spybot and Blastworm

I have had the above in my system according to my virus checker - fixed the blastworm with 60 seconds shutdown alert.
Now I have a problem where a blue screen comes up saying
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
and a total immediate shutdown
It will not last long enough to run a full virus check.
As you can imagine, being a civil engineer that cannot work a computer, it is beginning to bore me trying to fix it (all day today!)
Please help!

probably too late now - but I have the patch for windows xp to stop the worm attacking, and also the mcafee fix to get shot of it. both will fit on floppies - I can email them if you like but obviously to a different pc.
