Question

I'm not sure if the link will work but if it does then:
A. Is this a reasonable package for the money?
B. Can I do better with the budget?
C. Will it work or do I have some mis matches?

I would personally change the Iomega DVD writer for the Pioneer, only a couple of quid more.

The graphics card is great.... but for £1159 i'd expect to be able to pick up a pre built system of that spec with a 17" flat panel...

Exclamation

No OS? Or do you already have that?

When I upgrade I'm going to get a bare bone system from www.autdirect.co.uk and then just add a few bits from my old PC. Should only cost £300.

Question

Mr Dominica, where should I look for a pre built to this sort of spec then?

Judging by your graphics card I assume that your looking to play games on this machine and if it was a system i was building i'd make sure that it was at least a 3Ghz with 800Mhz and at least PC3200 DDR memory. Also a motherboard capable of at least 200fsb as standard.

Without checking the specs on your MB, I think you do have a mis-match or two. As someone intimated earlier, it all depends on what you want to do with it. A bit of advice though, never skimp on the case and power supply. A well designed case and an ample and stable power supply will keep your system running rock solid.

Question

OK, I want to play games but only occasionally. The problem I get at the moment is newer games won't run on my current machine due to the wrong type of graphics card. I don't want this problem for a while so that's why I thought I'd get a good card to start with. I also want to edit digital video and start some downloading with my new braodband connection. I want the flat screen to save space.
