Question

More of our guys are using lappies and those above are getting a bit paranoid about the kit being nicked and the data within being read. What's the best way to secure these devices? Encryption within the OS (XP Pro) or a hardware dongle or...?

TIA

Mark

Fingerprint recognition, there are mice with this feature built in and linked to the bios - eg won't start up otherwise.

Can you recommend a supplier?

What's the cost per unit? Do you use Enterprise or Pro?

Sorry MArk, can't remember how much it was, it was about 2 years ago i set it up, it's an older version, think it might be version 3.

We use microchip based cards that have to be inserted into a pcmcia reader, or just use passwords that are before system boot.

I'll have a look and see if i can dig out the details from when i ordered it
