I have had NTL broadband (512k) for the last 2 years or so, and find it very good - reliable, fast, always on etc...
Anyway, we are moving house soon, and the street we are moving to has not been cabled up, so I am looking at other options for broadband - what's the best? BT? AOL?
cheers,
Andy

check out www.adslguide.org they give you tons of info aswell as comparisons between the isp's. Nildram seems to be getting all the raves at the mo, although I went with Bulldog who do a split service of 2mb 6pm-8am and 512k 8am-6pm for £30 a month.

I use BT broadband and it's really good, always works, true 512k, never disconnects.
AOL should give the same level of service, but they'll offer loads of extras, like 'doctored' web pages courtesy of they're useful(?) proxy servers, fidling with your emails (compressing attachments before you get them), banner ads, ooh and oh yeah, on-going Billing that cannot be cancelled till the year 2053.
Depends what you are looking for really, AOHell is great for the 'family' but if you know how to use a computer and the internet stear well clear.

I use pipex it's awesome, nice and fast and very reliable as well as cheap .
We use BT at work and there outgoing mail servers always seem to be having problems :-( But the connectivity is good.

I have recently moved from NTL Broadband to Pipex. I chose Pipex for the cheap price, and good quality backbone network behind it. No problems so far, and the speed of delivery was excellent.
Depends what you use your connection for, I have heard that online gamers should be wary of who they choose, due to inter provider peerings, but otherwise look for value for money.

I use BT Yahoo/Openworld. Connection is excellent (They gave me 2Meg for the first week but subsequently realised and downgraded me to the 512k I am paying for ) I have an ADSL router, so connection si always on, but I have heard that the modem setup actually 'dials' the connection and takes a few seconds.
The technical support is crap, but if everything goes according to plan you won't need technical support. It really is Plug and Go
