Hello

Having played Halo for the last few days on the PC, I really don't understand what all the fuss was about.

Was it THAT good on the X-Box?

Oh well, Half Life 2 is something to look forward to.

Steve.

me neither!

I eagerly anticipated playing on a friend's xbox for weeks and after playing sega gt racing (one of the worst driving games Ive ever played!) we played halo, not a bad game but got a bit boring after an hour, very over-rated IMHO

Hello

I'm sure it's a great game on the X-Box, just not as impressive as I expected on the PC.

It's a 30 fps dog on the PC, very poor port IMO. Ive seen frame rates drop as low as 9fps (using fraps) when it gets busy and this is with a Barton 2800 and 9700 pro.

Halo is 'possibly' one of the most repetative shooters I have ever played.

The same rooms are repeated over and over again with the library level typifying this. Near identical rooms, spamming the same old aliens over and over again with the covenant spawning from tunnels while you have to kill thirty of them while locked in before the next door opens. Yawn, been there done that with Doom 10 years ago.

When I bought my XBOX Halo was an OK console game but that was over a year ago. Now all it is is a very mediocre PC game.

A agree to an extent with Jye. After playing the game through on Normal level I tried again on the next hardest. I got all the way to the Library level and thought, Oh god, I've got to go through 10 different rooms that all look the same again. I got tired of this the first time and could not be bothered to do it all again, so I stopped playing it.

However, the outdoor Levels are great. I really look forward to those.

I don't play it much now, except when I get together with my brothers and then we pretty much play Halo on the LAN all day. This is where it excels. Just a shame you can't have more than 4 playes on Full screen.

At last!!!

I thought I was one my own I think Halo is ****e

It was demo'd it by my mate when he said "you've got to get an XBox for this game"......

I didn't see what the fuss was about - for eye candy, I thought that Project Gotham Racing was better

With regards to LAN stuff, I think that there are MUCH better games - Quake series, Half-life engine-based stuff etc.....

Dan

thought I was going mad!!!!

The nice thing about the X-box though is you don't need to lug around a PC, monitor, kb and mouse. No worries about all users have the same version/patch. Just plug it into the TV, hook up and off you go!

Eventhough I already own Halo for almost 2 years now, I still play it every now and then. Excellent Game IMO. The longer you play it, the better it gets. I know that the Library level wasn't really the best part of it, but all the other (mainly outdoor) levels make this game more than worth to buy. Multiplayer rules! GoldenEye on N64 was also great, but the vehicles in Halo makes this game so outstanding. Waiting for Halo 2.

Hello

GoldenEye and Perfect Dark are both brilliant games. Perfect dark is coming to the X-Box I believe?

We will have to wait and see for a correct release date of Halo 2.

Since Rare was bought from Nintendo by Microsoft, we sure will get a Perfect Dark sequel on the Xbox. The only thing is, a lot of the original 'GoldenEye-Programmers' have left Rare. Still, I see glory times on the horizon.

I must agree that the vehicles in multi-player are great. Nothing better than riding the Scorpion and blasting everything in sight.

One time Iwas in the tank and my brother, who was on my team, wanted me to give him a lift. As he was climbing aboard I accidently moved the tank slightly and ran him over. Oh how we laughed at that one.....
