Hi folks,
I recently bought (reasonably cheaply) a second hand Navman for my Ipaq. Whilst it seems to work ok, I am decidedly unimpressed with its navigation capabilities. On one trip the route it was going to take me was over 100 miles further than I needed to go!!
What I was wondering was whether TomTom navigator 2 is any better, and will it work with the Navman gps receiver I already have (seems silly to buy another one). Also are there any navigators out there which allow you to enter a route in advance and just get it to guide you, (so I can be sure it takes me the way I want to go)?
Thanks,
Iain

Iain,
Navigator 2 is supposed to be the dogs danglies!!!! I have just ordered it for my Dell Axim, so I can tell you how good it is in the near future.
Regards,
Shaun.

Iain,
I've been using TTN 1 & now TTN2 for quite sometime now and have been impressed with it. The only slight bugbear I have with it is the length of time some route calculations take, but of course this is dependant on CPU speed, Media speed etc. I have an aging iPAQ 3630 and use a 2Gb PCCARD for storage.
You can plan routes in advance and switch between navigation, map and instruction views. Both the map & instruction views would let you check the calculated route.
for further info I'd advise you to take a look at:

Shaun: I was thinking of getting the 300mhz Axim as I only want it for navigation wired to my Road Angel and running tom tom 2 software
Let us know how you get on mounting it in yer scoob, want to know where the best mounting kits are obtained from.
Pictures are good
