Looking for some nice simple software that I can write some uncomplicated webpages and upload etc...
Can anyone recommend any software ? cost ?

Have a look at the magazine .NET, they usually have some editors on the CD. Some of them are actually pretty good.
Failing that you are getting into FrontPage or DreamWeaver territory.
