We run exchange 2000 and have a dept that require their emails redirecting to their new external (ie not in our domain) accounts.

I have tried adding their new email addresses into their contacts and then creating a rule to redirect all mail to that contact...but it don't work.

What am I doing wrong/can I do???

Help please Exchange propeller heads!!!

Create a new contact in your Active Directory.

Then look at the properties for the user you are redirecting (in Active Directory Users and Computers), go to the "Exchange General" tab, click Delivery Options and enable "Forward to".

Pick the contact you've created above and you have a server side forward in place.

HTH,

Chris.
