Problem With E - Mail
#1
I am trying to recieve some e mails on Microsoft Outlook, but as they are downloading a message comes up saying :
"This program has performed an illegal opperation and will be shut down...if the problem persists, contact the vendor"
I am waiting for a really important e - mail aswell... does anyone know what the problem is and how I can resolve it ?
(Mods would you leave this in NSR for a little please ?)
Thanks for help,
Matt

Could be possible you've got a virus. Tons of those *******s floating 'round these days.
Try this site: http://housecall.trendmicro.com/
It'll do an online scan (safe site) and should find any virus or trojan you've got on the computer.

Who's your email provider? Some of them allow you to look at e-mails on the internet (e.g. yahoo or hotmail) should you not be able to download them and they're urgent.
Longer term obviously follow the previous posts.

Dracoro - thanks very much I'd forgotten I could do that. Went to ntlhome's webpage, read the e mails and deleted them. Seems to have done the trick. Outlook is working fine now.
