MS updates won't install...

..they download ok , but when i come to install them after a short while it is cancelled and a message box appears asking if the cryptographic service is started on this computer ,i've checked it and it is started, this has happened several times now and i need to update so i can extract W32. blaster worm or i'll just be infected again.... please help... 
ps. it also says they haven't passed logo testing and thus refuses to install them
