I have just been given 3 E3500 servers and all seems ok with them but I can not figure out how they work, Now I know it ain't rocket science and I do know my way round a SUN but either asll 3 are fsck'd or I am doing something fundamentally wrong.
2 of the machines have a Creator 3D graphix card in them so I used a sun monitor with the stupid D25 connector and the 3 brass pins, a PS2 SUN KB and a 100mb lan cable.
switch on the ignition key at the front and the big rocker switch on the back and all the green and yellow lights come on and slowely go out, but the maintenence lights sometimes stay on or go out then come back on, the ignition switch has 4 settings OFF, ON, ON some more and ON some more. I can not get the monitor to switch on, is there some trick to powering up these machines or what. I have also tried a terminal console and no joy either, the machines have memory in then and 4 cpus 2 disks etc.
Any ideas what is wrong.
Cheers
Steve

update to my problem.
Now one of the machines talks to the monitor and when I boot it from my jumpstart server all apears to go well up until it tells me it has no disks in it. The machine has 2 x ST39103FC Fibre Channel disks in it in slots 0 & 1 or 1 & 2 which ever is the first 2 slots. The second 2 machines won't talk to the monitor still, I found another graphix card and pit it in the 3rd machine but still no joy.
