Does anyone use this? I've tried but on a 1mb connection i never get over 10kb a second download but easily 30kb/sec upload. I've got a Belkin Router in between my PC and my Cable connection - does this cause it to run really slow?

I use ptc as my client and occassionally the btgui, download speeds vary from file to file i usually get a 10k download although every so often it'll go mad and let me get it at 60k
this usually happen when i'm the last to get a file and i'm playing catchup (ie if 1 person has 100 percent 2 have 50 percent 2 have 25 percent and i have 0 percent i can get file from all five) also do a search for tornet spy you might find there's not many seeders on your file

thanks for the replies. The only reason I posted was cos somebody else I know is downloading the same file as me and he's getting 130k per second - so i was a bit dissapointed to be getting only 10k.

i've cured the problem. Took my router out of the equation and installed Zonealarm and now i'm getting 50k+ downloads. I'm guessing that I need to open some ports on the router to get it to work properly from what I've read on the net.

Bit Torrent is great, I get 50 kb/s nearly all the time...
